Thornes first growth

Hello again my dear readers. This reporter has been busy traveling back to our roots, walking the long walk and spying upon the lands of the young. For this endeavor we found a likely looking young clan by the name of Thorne. We join him as his clan starts to explore, still young and finding his way upon the sphere.

I should point out that I am using my world map and not his. Do not forget that his view of the world is far less than my own.

Thorne is but youngAnd so, in the beginning we see Thorne, upon the birthing shores and only a few turns old. But look, see his first shots upon the defenseless mother of LelithHesperex. This Thorne shows signs of having what it takes to excel upon the sphere.

This culling of the Hesperex mother continues for some turns, and we find that Thorne sharts to explore, going beyond the mountains to find that other clans live upon the sphere.

The Frostlords to the South West.

The Xanthis to the South East and the abandoned mothers of Grump and Hesperex (soon to be culled by our lovable Thorne).

But, scanning forward three or four turns I see Thorne is also consuming the Grump mother. This Thorne has much potential against defenseless foes, I wonder if he will survive real combat?

Xanthis attacked by the FrostlordsI'm not too sure about Thorne, but it his scouts see others engaged in their first combat, and sees Xanthis take damage.

Incoming salvo of 3 from Wasp 1B of Frostlords (shield ECM 70%) scored 1 hits ( 1 shield)

These youngsters are certainly showing the spirit of the battle sphere. I wonder if they hold grudges?

The Lands of the Young are fullAnd here we see Thornes scouts spreading through the lands of the young.

The FrostLords continue to fire upon the inactive Xanthis.

Thorne still eats the Grump Mother and to the South we get our first view of the still invulnerable Dragons Run.

The turn after this Thorne notices that Xanthis is inactive and he fires his first shots at them.

Incoming salvo of 4 from WARRIOR-1 of Thorne (shield ECM 64%) scored 3 hits ( 2 eng 1 spawning)

Eating The TravellersThe next few turns introduce Raptor and Slaughter to Thornes view of the world, as well as the deserted mother of 'The Traveler'. Thorne's standard operational procedure kicks in and two fighters start to chew upon the deserted mother.

The land of the young is a busy place for scavengers.

Thorne sees his first combatAt last! A lone Thorne scout sees his first real combat. Dragons Run being pounded by Cerberus, and the cross fire catches the Thorne scout on the hop.

Thorne responds by pulling his fighters towards the combat.

Dragons Run agains Frostlords and ThorneA turn later, and we lose sight of Cerberus, only to see Dragons Run pounding upon the FrostLords and our beloved Thorne scout. The Drogons Run is fighting on all sides!

Cerberus slides, relieving the pressure on Dragons Run, but....

Drogons Run's Mother takes the brunt of the retribution from the FrostLords and Thorne, and pays the ultimate price.

Incoming salvo of 3 from Firefly 1A of Frostlords (3 automatic)(shield ECM 68%) scored 3 hits ( 1 comp 2 spawning)
Incoming salvo of 3 from WARRIOR-2 of Thorne (3 automatic)(shield ECM 70%) scored 3 hits ( 3 spawning)
Incoming salvo of 4 from Hornet 1C of Frostlords (4 automatic)(shield ECM 67%) scored 4 hits ( 4 spawning)
Incoming salvo of 4 from Wasp 1C of Frostlords (4 automatic)(shield ECM 70%) scored 4 hits ( 1 weap 3 spawning)
Computer systems unable to maintain integrity... Good Byeee
The Titan MOTHER dies.

Dragons Run fighting for their livesNow its bad enough losing your Mother, but Cerberus then returns from the slide.

Dragons Runs is really on the run now. The breeder base is being swamped by three clans, all baying for blood and showing no mercy.

And so our story draws to a close. Thorne has grown, has eaten the halls and chewed on the bones of several deserted clans. He has traveled the lands of the young and met allies (or so it seems). And his final act seems to be the banishment of the fabled dragons.

Where have all the Dragons gone

Where Have All The Dragons Gone?

Back to Dispatches

It brings many memories back to visit the land of the young. It is thriving - training and growing the blood thirsty fighters of the future. Those who will emerge to pull down the elder gods who now control the sphere.

We welcome you all, and yet, we hope the Dragons have not gone for good.
