Rarely does history get told by the Victors and the slain, but in our eternal drive for honesty, truth and the gory details, we bring you Bac Ho's version of the Genesis/Stompers war Part I. | |
Aries - A stubborn Hall falls
Aries died today, and a clan weeps.
Who
was Aries? It's not often that a family of 100 titans can claim to have
a common living ancestor… and sadly with Clan Bac Ho this is no longer the
case. Aries was born on the 30th day of the new beginning. At first she
seemed to be just another titan, but this freak of nature was so much more.
The first Hall… perhaps the first of many, hopefully the first of only two.
Born with the technology of a mere goat, she was given the name of a ruminant
cousin. She rapidly advanced in tech and though appeared to have transformed
through the titan classes of Cat, Cow, Dragon and finally Ram, she always
retained the characteristics of the Goat… Aries was a stubborn beast. |
Aries
started life in a small oasis of orange in large field of green. Unhappy with
beginning life in an open field, and with Sidhe guerillas harassing the clan
to the south she quickly ascended the nearest mountain… then spotted another
further east, leapt over a small valley and settled. An immovable object.
It was about at this time that Eldar, revealed itself to be a militant in hippy clothing. The start of an epic war commenced, and Genesis titans charged north. The Bac Ho leaders after receiving an invitation from their allies in the north urged Aries to join them. The stubborn goat refused. A line of Superior titans came within 10 hexes of the clan's most important titan, and still she refused to budge. Eventually she was dragged kicking and bleating to a mountain further north… but after being spotted by a Catalyst scout she broke free and scampered back to the southern tip of the crescent mountain which she loved, confident in the abilities of her offspring to defend her. The war with Genesis raged on, and still she remained unseen.
After Penda and Gryphon were pushed off the fields of orange to the east, Aries was again approached by the Clan leaders. They begged her to move, this time not through fear, but in a desire to get closer to purple, and at the very least set up camp among orange. Aries again refused… but a sprig of sweet tasting purple flower was dangled before her, and she set off in pursuit of its brave bearer. Thus began the epic march south east. A march of 30 hexes, across open fields with a limited escort, the mighty goat amazingly arrived at her new home unseen.

When Aries awoke she was surrounded. The Clan leaders worked their diplomatic magic and she was spared. Still groggy from the sedative, Aries was placidly walked to a gate further south and was teleported to her new home, near the centre of the sphere. |
This
new home was a paradise. Plush with purple and blue the clan would never again
have to uproot and move on. Defences were built on the hills in the north, northwest
and west. Even with the Genesis ceasefire broken the clan leaders felt at last
their tempestuous Hall was secure. It would take a monster siege to destroy
Aries now. Only Genesis was capable of such a siege. With great patience they
built up a mammoth force. At the peak of its might this army was greater than
140 titans strong. Invitations flooded in from across the sphere offering refuge
for the Great Goat. But the clan leaders knew there was no point approaching
Aries with the offer. They did their best to protect her, and for well over
a month death rained down upon the centre of the sphere. Many titans were lost
on both sides. With help from the closest allies the western (Superior) and
eastern (Catalyst) fronts held strong. But eventually the north/west (Eldar
+ Kalorn Knights) fronts collapsed. More than 25 powerful Genesis titans were
required to fire in unison for 4 consecutive days to finally cull the goat.
After 215 days on the sphere, and 3 months on her mountain paradise Aries passed onto the next world. In a world where most halls are shot in the back while migrating or fleeing the enemy, or squashed by an older foe in a temporary home, Aries was one of the few to dig in her heels and fight to the last.

Aries is dead. Genesis have won.
