Moogles, the great six moon dance |
|
Moogles was one of the spheres characters, a colourful and verbose fellow who charmed and chastised many on the warcry. His thoughts helped shape the sphere, while his feelings drove him from us, the loving community of warmongers...
This reporter loves his style, and so will hand over to the Great Mog himself. Editorial staff was vastly overworked during this submission - not to mention very busy drinking, so no pictures have been added to, um, confuse the reader.
As the 5 stepped into the Moon Bridge, the Sasquatch knew there was something wrong.
First there was the Mother. Then there were many little Moogles all running around, eating the leaves off their trees and meeting new people. They frolicked with Karma, and Bogey Dope, and even some cute 'n cuddly werewolves called Silver Fangs. Then the Sasquatch was born.
There were vampire slayers and fae on the mountain near where the Sasquatch landed. It shifted immediately into its mode for battle, expecting the worst from the fae gathered there.
The Sasquatch was power incarnate. It's massive strength, however, was mostly for show and it just sat, enjoying watching the Moogles play around it. Even its presence attracted Moogles from the Song-land from whence the Moogles drew their power. Soon the Moogles had everything they needed. Then a bit of Chaos came from the south. A group of warriors who were invulnerable to the Moogles' dance came and enforced their chaos on the Moogles' bodies, harming them. They were so close to the Sasquatch, yet it was still out of their sight . . . surely there was a solution.
Just as the the Sasquatch stopped its lumbering movement, a barrage of wooden stakes faintly smelling of garlic and a blast of fae magic left a gaping hole in the Sasquatch's arm. The battle was nearly lost before it had begun.
Righteous was found. Righteous was sent to attack the Chaos. His holy warriors had no trouble dispatching the main Vortex of the Chaos. Soon, all of the Chaos was routed, but more chaos had appeared: Bogey Dope and Yellow Fever, with others, reviled the holy warriors of Righteous and wished to destroy him for killing the Chaos, who was formerly an ally of Righteous. Soon it was decided by the great Moogle, Mog, that perhaps the knights were disposable. The Song-land was filled with shouts at Righteous and Mog added his voice, condemning him, and destroying him.
Mog surveyed the Sphere for reinforcements. A contingent of his chosen fought Righteous and the Virtual Adepts. No one else could help. The Sasquatch would be alone, with his honor guard, until his end.
The Technocratic Union had, in the meantime, moved into the area near the Moogles. Such a pair was a sight to see with the highly technological laboratories of the Technocrats and the natural splendor of the Moogles, but they were also a formidable team. When the Technocratic Research Lab first came online, everyone rejoiced, Moogle and HIT Mark alike. Also, the Virtual Adepts chose to join with the two. The Virtual Adepts, in another realm, were the dire enemies of the Technocracy. How prophetic other realms can be.
Mog pleaded with the Fae, with the Slayer, with the Templars, and with the Bloodguard. Met with hatred and anger by all but the Slayer, Mog became alternately angry and resigned to his Sasquatch's fate.
The Haven Templars, knights of a much lesser power the the Moogles, had stopped moving. This was a condition for destruction by the Moogles. A campaign was begun, and then slightly held back when the knights began to fight back. The war was started, however, and so the decision to continue was made. The knights fell easily, yet a cease-fire was made so the Sasquatch could move to a place where the food was more plentiful. His charges were starved. The Laboratory of the Technocracy followed, wishing to reap the benefits of the Moogles' power. However, the Haven Templars were biding.
The Moogles danced ferociously and even tried to climb the mountain near them to gain defense, but the Sasquatch, immovable, sat on the lowland, exposed. It attacked all the fae which it could, but was fighting a losing battle.
The Technocracy's Control vanished. The Haven Templars attacked the Laboratory in a weakened state. It was nearly dead and would've been had Mog not proposed a trade of his Sasquatch for the Technocracy's Laboratory. The Technocracy, however, used a massive space-time warping device to jump off the Sphere for enough time that they would heal automatically. The Haven Templars were destroyed by the fiercesome Moogles and then routed, far, far east. Back to the homeland of the Virtual Adepts, who were, at about that time, made simply friends. The Technocracy, in a massive botch, were destroyed by their space-time device and left in limbo, never to return to the Sphere.
Kumog, the most powerful Moogle to set foot on the Sphere, kin to the Great Mog, self-destructed. The Sasquatch, and Mog, were saddened as they tried to fight back against the increasing number of fae.
The Sasquatch began moving south at the request of Yellow Fever and his virii, to a place more suitable for habitation. At the same time, a number of units were sent to dispose of the Haven Templars. But something was wrong. The Virtual Adepts had allied with the Moogles' largest grudge and the Moogles' largest enemy, Righteous. The battle was pitched, but the Moogles fell back until they could not fall back anymore. The Sasquatch sought solace in the promise of a better home and thus took 4 powerful Moogles to the Moon Bridge with him.
As the Sasquatch died, Mog sent his voice out in the Song-land, in an attempt to say goodbye to everyone, since the death of the Sasquatch was the death of the power of his clan. He bid them all good luck in their wars, and long life for all their subjects. He then did a small, sad dance, and with that, he disappeared into oblivion.

Farewell then, Mog of the Moogles, may you do enjoy the oblivion you seek. |
