I weep for the slow, the weak and the dead. Read on, for death is a fairy.

The Seven Deadly Sins of Miss Ng

The lovely Miss Ng, so sweet, so innocent, so psychotic.

Miss Ng was put on this sphere for a single purpose, to attack. She's actually getting quite good at it. She tries to justify her violent tendencies by pointing to the sinners on the sphere. And what better way is there to punish these sinners than to take away their Hall privileges?

So sinners beware, Miss Ng is looking for you. Don't be fooled by her sweet smile... she's after your Hall.

SLOTH

Sloth was discovered by a Fungus scout in the fields of purple. It totally lacked an escort, and was dawdling along at a mere 4 hexes per day. Nonetheless Sloth was going to be a challenge. Being so far from Miss Ng's fighters and a fair distance from orange there was the risk that Sloth would reach the gate lying 25-movement away. Plus there was the real challenge of attacking the Shield tech 30 Hall if it reconfigured out of flight mode. The Miss Ng war machine sprung into action. Breeders were flung into the area, scouts flew in to uncover the uncharted terrain and to create orange biomass, and swift fighters ran in from far away. All this effort was unneccessary, for Sloth became idle. Sloth slept for 5 turns, by which time any chance of escape or fighting off the masses was completely extinguished. Eleven breeders had made it to the region and were churning out fighters by the time the Sloth awoke from his slumber.

"Mercy? HA! You must perish for your sin"

FOOL

Who would spawn a Hall in sight of a fighter of a neutral clan? Spawning within reach of a clan with a track record of massacreing titans of many ilks, including the recent savaging of a Hall. Who would do such a thing? Why only a Fool.

Fool had spoken with Miss Ng before. He had even been complemented on his violent ways... but to take these complements as a sign of loyal friendship was a mistake. Much time had passed, it was well over a month since the two had exchanged pleasantries. There was only one way Miss Ng could view the spawning of Fool's Hall. It was a slap in the face. "You're not dangerous. You'd never harm me", seemed to be the blasé attitude of Fool. A mere 4 turns went by before Fool was taught a very harsh lesson.

PRIDE

When a Fungus scout ran across Pride he was pinned on a gate in flight mode by a Granny gnat. Two Wt10 shots per day, the situation was hopeless. Surely it wouldn't be long until more Granny fighters arrived on the scene.

But no, Pride persevered, he would hold out, he would overcome this adversity. Two steps back, one step forward. This torture was too unpleasant to watch... Miss Ng had to act. Pride defenders arrived before any further Granny fighters could make it to striking distance. A friend even helped out Pride's lost cause. But for every friend there is an enemy. Miss Ng fired a couple of volleys and purged Pride of his sin, suddenly Pride understood and pressed the self-destruct button.

RISK

A mere 4 turns after the demise of Sloth, Risk was created in the fields where Miss Ng had stationed her assault force. Foolish? No, this was a calculated gamble for the Fungus forces had moved on. However, a Tiger Lily scout stumbled across Risk and in the spirit of the information age Lil' shared her discovery with her like-minded friend. But all was not lost for Risk, a gate nested not far to the South East and he ran for it. Risk reached the gate just in time, as he jumped 3 shots rained down upon the gate. Then something miraculous occurred, the gate was destroyed yet the Hall still jumped. God was forced to rewrite the laws of physics and it seemed Risk had escaped.

Far to the south Risk sat licking his wounds, two hits to the head by Miss Ng, and two to the body by Lil' meant that the repairs took a day longer than he had hoped. By good fortune or good planning Risk had landed near a gate. It seemed the gamble had paid off. Sadly no. The extra day of repairs was all Lil' needed to tag Risk as he moved adjacent to the gate. Miss Ng was gating breeders into the area and more Lil' gnats were bound to arrive shortly. All hope was lost. Risk was purged of his gambling addiction.

HASTE

One of Miss Ng's troops spotted Haste while harrassing his more cautious colleague. Immediatley the harrassment swung Haste's way. The Hall continued its approach to a gate despite being seen. A shot penetrated its hide as it threw caution to the wind and jumped, leaving behind his friend, his gate, all defence, and some pretty decent terrain.

Of course Miss Ng had to follow. Not through that gate (which she destroyed the next turn to isolate the friend), but through many of the others she kept tucked away for such events. The hunt was on. Haste ran. Returning the favour for the Risk information, Lil' was informed of the prey and she too joined the hunt. Another clan in the area, Enigma, discovered the target independently and it crashed the party. Haste had no choice, he couldn't outrun the pursuers, but he could slaughter these swift shieldless gnats... so he did. Haste scaled a mountain and laid into the hunters with a full configuration of weapons. It was all in vain. Enigma (against the odds) skillfully tagged computers in consecutive salvoes, Miss Ng (with favourable odds) only scored a solitary hit. Then her main wave of killers arrived on the scene. Nineteen shots were fired, none landed... Haste was no fool, he had self-destructed. Another sin purged.

PEACE

When Miss Ng first found Peace his clan had barely fired a shot. He was meandering along dangerously close to the Haste purging. Peace had an escort which was a nice change from what Miss Ng was accustomed to dealing with. However, when you've only got 30 titans to play with: techbreeding, scouting, securing a final destination, doesn't really leave much left for a decent escort. Peace was struggling with the effects of being a hippie, and would pay for this sin.

By the time Haste had fallen, Peace had already given up on reaching the gate not too far to the SE. He had busily set about securing his new mountain home. His pitiful clan size was now devoted to protecting his prize asset. Mini-fighters were spawned, and the Hall reconfigured to defensive mode. Two biochambers for the escape pods, shields of course, a few weapons to swat away the incoming forces and bountiful computers to repair any damage. Sadly for Peace his biochambers were the first thing hit (no escape pod). The next disaster was his insufficient engines were skillfully targeted by Miss Ng leaving him only partially shielded. The results were inevitable. Peace made a good fist of his struggle to hang onto life, but eventually the sin was purged.

FEAR

Fear was the successor to Haste, and was only a couple of days old when Miss Ng first found him. Sitting on lowland Fear would have been too easy, Miss Ng already had what she thought was the 7th sin in her sights. She promptly forgot about Fear and continued her campaign.

Fear’s troops proved to be a real asset to his ally under siege. What they lacked in tech was made up with size and aggression. A foothill from which the final push was to have been made slowly slipped from Miss Ng’s grasp and she was gradually forced back. Alternative plans were made and she swung her troops around to the west… and there an astounding sight greeted her.

Fear sat in the same lowland hex trembling in the cold shadow of the adjacent mountain. Like a deer frozen in the headlights of an oncoming truck Fear had remained motionless for over 3 tourneys. It was clear Miss Ng had been hunting the wrong clan, Fear was sent screaming from the sphere.

I hear God in my dreams, and he is happy. For the slow sphere has spawned sinners who are pleasing to the eye, and so he knows his work is good. Free will works even at half the pace.
