Thoughts on the restart.

First I'd like to say, someone questioned why play when we know the restart is going to happen already. The answer is simple, we play to have fun, not to gain some giant standing. Yes being the best does feel nice, but we play to have fun mostly. And you'll find alot of those voting on either side, want the restart/no restart because they think it is more fun. To put it simple, I'll play up to the day that the restart happens, because I enjoy playing and so I can still learn how to play.

Now on the thought of the world. Several ideas are being put forth on how the world should be designed. Well here is what I think on some designs.

Green bullseye.
This is a straitforward method that will also allow the addition of more biomass of higher levels easier. It also allows those starting to be in the same general area..allowing wars to start off pretty quickly, along with alliances. Pretty fun...but as clans get bigger, they could possible just find a place of their own, since all will be getting spread out.

Blue/purple bullseye.
Another straitforward method, and a design good for late game wars. As all the high gen will be competing for the same general area of biomass. Well either that or allying. However the start will be kinda boring, cause more then likely people will be scattered about the different green biomass areas, and of course its harder to expand to new types of biomass.

Striped land.
Basic idea here, on one side of the map is green biomass, on the other side of the map is the higher biomass. Easy to add new biomass if needed, the starting clans have a closer start than a purple/blue bullseye, but not as close as a green bullseye, it'd be inbetween. The same would happen with high gen..unless a bottleneck of some sort is devised.

Pokadots.
The areas of all the biomass colors would not be centered in one main area. But instead you'd have patches all over the map, close to randomly set about the area. This would allow for expanding, and how big the starting/ending fighting will largely depend on how the biomass is set up, instead of just one general rule.

Of course I won't doubt there are other theme's, but as of right now, I have no idea what they may be. However, I feel the fourth idea, or some variation of it might be the most enjoyable. As long as the biomass is laid down correctly to make decent competition.

May the mother of your clan forever watch over what ye.

OK, square 100 by 100 is all water...
Actually easier to draw it

W=water, G=green, O=orange, P=purple, B=blue. Each square is 100 by 100 hexes. Each kind of biomass only grows in its own area, and farming does not work.
This was the original design, but I didn't have enough players back then.
It may turn into diagonal stripes rather than squares, but you get the idea. In this map there is no reason for elders to set up home in a younger bands lands.
And it means I can grow the map forever - eg the first map need only be 300 by 300 -

And see what happens.

I like this best, and so it shall be.
