| Some thoughts on the design of the world if the restart passes. First, should biomass be allowed to be farmed and if yes, should it be allowed to be farmed to upgrade it and downgrade it both? It would be interesting to be able to farm biomass as we now do but we could NOT upgrade the biomass that grows naturally in an area, only downgrade it or expand what grows there already. This would reguire clans to move as they advance which would add another winkle to the game but may also inhibit clans from advancing if they join the battle later in the game. Second, if the world is banded with levels of biomass, how should it be banded? I dislike the concept of putting the most advanced biomass in the middle of the world. This is the kind of action that may eventually lead to locking out late arriving clans at the higher levels. I would suggest that we leave the world open ended with ever increasing biomass as the world expands south and east as it now does. In a few years we may need to expand the world to add new colors of biomass and we need to keep moving the advanced clans farther and farther from the newbies. By banding the world the way it is now we can grow biomass colors and the world as a whole as needed virtually forever. I am sure that computer technology and memory sizes will increase much faster than our world increases so there should be no real limit on world growth. There is no point in locking it down with advanced biomass in the middle. As we saw in WarCry's posts, there is considerable disagreement as to whether a corner is a stronghold or a weakness. The subject of how the world should be arranged depends greatly on the question of how farming will be allowed. The world would have to be very different depending on whether there is no farming, only farming on the same level of biomass that occurs naturally, downgrading and natural biomass only or allowing every kind of farming everywhere. Let's all give God our thoughts on this and let's keep it simple for God to handle, he needs a rest from programming the world. | |
