The long March of Demon 1

This is the tale of Demon 1 and his long march told in three chapters. We join this epic story as his wolf pack comes under withering enemy fire...

Demon one is part of the line that has just marched North to join battle. The damage is not currently too great, two units of engine have gone and a single weapon. But he is still fighting fit and ready for action.

He spends a turn in damage control and then steps forwards towards the fray, all around him the battle flares, the rest of the line is being pounded.

Having reached the very front line the order is given to retreat, the rest of the line may be damaged but its Demons turn to rip into the enemy. Still orders is orders and he turns south with the rest of the pack.

We start to see why the retreat was sounded. Another enemy clan is appearing to the East and the entire wolf pack could have been crushed between two foes and the sea.

Notice the valour of his clan mate, staying behind to keep the enemy occupied while Demon 1 broke free. But Demon 1 is not to continue the retreat, but is to become a decoy to lead the enemies away...

The full might of the Eastern line is now apparent. The rest of the wolf pack streams South, escaping the jaws of the trap. Demon 1 continues East, hoping to drive behind the enemy lines and strike at the Eastern clans breeders, or at least force the fighters to defend against him.

This is the last he sees of his courageous friend, still fighting on the line, and doomed.

And so the long walk of Demon 1 is about to start, cut off from his clan and all support he delves deeper into the enemy land.
