Many of you have asked for a dispatch to mark the end to the reign of such a great Clan. Due to limited time, this is not a full dispatch, more a note to mark the end of an era, and to inform everyone of how the sphere got into the huge war in the South.

Bulimic dominated the Battle Sphere for the first 550 turns, casting fear and awe whenever he was seen. His battles with Gout-Leg were epic and spanned many many tourneys. And then came the Cowputts episode, this saw Cowputts advance his strength to the east to challenge Bulimic and Gout-Leg, pulling the defenses of both clans to one side. The battle lasted a few tourneys and ended when a younger clan -Titanawk - knifed into Cowputts undefended Clan Hall. The upset was huge, casting Titanawk firmly at war with a much diminished but still superior Cowputts. And so the stage for the first world war is set, the Sloggs/Titanawk alliance against Cowputts and his mighty alliance. This was wages even now and we are all awaiting the result, as more and more clans get swept into the wars grip.
So what of Bulimic and Gout-Leg. Bulimic had been fighting Cowputts, building up a host of clan hall titans and gaining experience. Meanwhile Gout-Leg had sent all his forces into the far west in search of Cowputts. This Gout-Leg expedition eventually engaged a Slogg contingent and much slaughter was had until the Sloggs extinguished them. Back on the battle lines between Bulimic and Gout-Leg war waged again. Bulimic's host washed against the Gout-Leg deep defenses, which were augmented by Nosferatu and Mogwais. And Bulimics host got the upper hand. They advanced quickly, driving deep into Gout-Leg land, destroying fighters and breeders until the Gout-Leg Clan Hall was in sight. The Hall morphed into flight mode and crawled North, Mogwais surrendered - having little choice now that the end was soon to come. The Gout-Leg defences reassembled as the Hall set down roots for a last stand, and there they stayed for about 4 turns, a thin line of outnumbered Gout-Leg hall titans perched on mountains, watching with dredd as the Bulimic horde appeared. Then, one epic day Bulimics host came in range and salvo after salvo landed. The Gout-Leg hall was pounded, vapourized and reduced to slag in a single turn.
The aftermath saw Gout-Leg scrambling about in the ruins as Bulimic withdrew. And so Bulimic's victory was total. He was supreme, without equal and invulnerable with his superior tech levels. It is soon after this that Bulimic announced his ambition to transcend, to move on to a place where only the most advanced civilizations can hope to go....
| To our friends, enemies, and all the insane robotic killing machines we haven't met: We announce our intention to transcend this place of death, and find fulfillment on a larger plane. With the crushing of the evil that is Gout-Leg, our work here is done. Our biomass fields, which extend east of the line (260,105)-(250,120)-(230,150)-(240-170) to the eastern edge of the world, we leave to those clans strong enough to hold them. There is much purple and blue biomass for their hungry breeders. We wish all of you continued treachery, tragedy and slaughter in the times to come! From time to time we shall visit your dispatches. May the senseless waste and destruction long continue! - Bulimic High Command |
His final communication was a word of advice, soon after this his hordes vanished in a blaze of light and glory. They will be remembered, and their lands are forever named upon the Battle Sphere.

| As we wait for the release of Planck-scale energies which will send us on our way to tyrannize other spheres, we
thank those who have sent farewell messages. And a special thank you to Jonathan, a god become victim of his creation...
Whether there will be time for dispatches we cannot say at this time; we will note that what won the final war against Gout-Leg (we think) was essentially _speed_. Our titans had an average speed of 6, and taking battles into account we still travelled at an average of perhaps 1.5 hexes a turn. Therefore when they reached their final destination, they were only a few generations behind Gout-Leg's latest, and they had experience to compensate. Had the average speed been only 5, they would have made only 0.5 hexes a day (or less, because they would have attracted more opposition) and would have been utterly obsolete after traversing perhaps 70 hexes at this rate. Also, we note, they were able to easily catch up with a running Clan Hall! So a 20% speed difference can translate into a 200% more effective blitzkrieg. Not always, surely, but perhaps often in battles waged at a distance by powerful clans. Needless to say targeting of hall titans, extensive use of scouts, and Gout-Leg's prior dispersion of his forces helped too! Once again, good wishes, death, and destruction to all! Bulimic |
