Summer Empire

Shaman, the summer empire on the brink

The 66th Galactic year from the start of the Epoch. Over 6000 galatic ticks, RipSpace vessels jumping to war and creating empires. This is a time of conflict for the Shaman. The Chieftain knew it would be such, as soon as the oracles and witches had confirmed the auguries in those heady days before the first launch. They had known of a dark future, a fuure of undead reavers and a vast empire of darkness.

The only way to have a future within this forseen darkness was to strive, to create vessels of war, and to expand with a summer empire to counter the darkness forseen. The ship wrights did their work and the chiefs became captains, the warriors became crew and clans took to the currents, riding the waves of a deeper ocean than before.

Many skirmishes and contacts preceeded this moment. But it is this moment, the 66th year of galactic expansion which we report on.

Dneness

In Dneness our two battleships, the Sacred Oak and the Grove are battling the undead Nosferatu. Outnumbered and cornered by gravwells they fight a holding battle, awaiting reinforcements from the shipwrights.

This is a nervous battle, the Grove is cut off by a well placed gravstar. The Sacred Oak is the only vessel in a position to project harm, but it is outnumbered and exposed.

This battle started well, our own gravity field protecting our small fleet, but now the single Nosferatu gravstar has effectively removed the Grove from combat. Devide and conquer is the winning enemy strategy.

Eileoal

Eileoal is a different battle all together. The recent illumination of solar north has revealed how complex this combat will be.

Pegasus, Mortis and Nosferatu are in system, together with our own glorious vessels and an unknown alien.

This combat will see aliances forming to drive enemies from the system. The Shamans farseers are casting bones upon the 'Shield Arm' and 'Wrath of Bones'. But the future is unclear, while the nano death is clear as crystal.

The fleet chieftain has stated the only goal in this conflict is survival. The witches are watching closely, reminding him that Nosferatu is to be feared and destroyed.

The Kif
LightSeeder is being sent on it's way.

Glororrond

Another system, and yet more alien scum polluting the stars. These foes in their tiny vessels are unknown, and it is nothing more than a skirmish. Perhaps they wish to claim a planet, perhaps their alien bodies are incompatable with our own bio-spheres and we could coexist. We do not know, and we await communication, while activiely discouraging them from this, our chosen solar system.

Gollankral

Our ark ship, the 'Sister Ark' was seeding a fine new colony when two Nosferatu Bat's came in system and pinned it to the gravity well. A battleship and a cruiser against a non combat colony vessel. The tide pulled, but the ark waited for the 'Wolfhead' - one of our Wolf class dreadnaughts to gate in system from the repair yards.

The odds are not quite so stacked now, and the Nosferatu will pay.

The Princess
Of the Shaman

Withdrawing from a poluted system it flies through an undead minefield.

The Tepes class battle Dreadnaught
Of the Nosferatu

Emerging from silence to inflict the coup de grace upon the passive Princess.

Gollenkiy

This is an indecisive nasty little conflict, another with the great shadow of the undead empire. While we gently relocated some of their tainted populous from their hardly established colonies, their defensive fleet was seeding the system with vile mines.

We decided to withdraw, to return in force perhaps. However, the retreat saw one of our great hospital and repair ships fly right through a mine swarm. Only when our mighty vessel was disabled did the unclean foe emerge from hiding to try and slaughter it.

We do not hold out much hope for the Princess and it's doomed crew.

Linstad

The Mortis gated into our non-combatant system. They attacked the trade gate and started to broadcast unclean propagander at our people. The druids had a hard time keeping the people from raising from the planets in a Nova swarm of vengeance.

The witches performed mighty rituals to summon another of the repaired Wolf class Dreadnaughts from the first great ship wrights. The 'WolfBane' gated in and the ship chieftain wasted no time. The Nakris of the Mortis was close, and the WolfBane opened up with massive and decisive firepower.

The Nakris, a fine looking ship, but of obvious evil intent was severly damaged and put to flight, while its sister ships dropped mines all about the WolfBane.

The Nakris attempts to flee, while the WolfBane is swamped by niggling mines from hidden fighters and frigates.

Vengeance!
The Nakris burns.

In Mathony we claim a world, while cleaning more undead infestations.

In Munban our Battleship has locked down a Nosferatu cruiser. We have high hopes of obliterating them.

In Nileale a Nosferatu Gate holds the system, and our small fleet faces the unknown.

In Nilekno our gate has detected an unknown alien intrusion, the colonists chant for reinforcements from the deep dark.

Taieshui is a violent conflict, viper class destroyers from Pegasus are fighting with stealth approach and sudden retreat drone runs against my more visable Moose class battleship. These small vessels have crippled their larger advisary, and soon the Moose must retreat.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is the war of the heavens that was foreseen. This is the battle of the Shaman, waged on many fronts against the unknowable aliens. But most of all, it is the fight against the risen empire of the Nosferatu.
